OVERVIEW
Sandblasting enclosures and shot blast enclosures can be designed from industrial curtains which are more flexible and considerably less expensive than rigid wall systems. Whilst not designed to be used as a backdrop to stop a direct hit from the media, they are ideal for containing the dust created by shot blasting and sandblasting operations.
Our curtain-based enclosures are widely used across UK engineering, fabrication, and surface preparation facilities. They provide effective containment that meets HSE workplace exposure limits for airborne particulates, whilst offering the flexibility to reconfigure your workspace as production demands change.
We supply enclosures in any configuration — from simple single-wall dust barriers to fully enclosed four-sided booths with access openings. Every system is designed to your specific dimensions and fitted with heavy-duty hardware rated for industrial environments.
Quick to Deply to Contain Dust
Types of Sandblasting Enclosure Booths
There are several different types of enclosures that can be supplied based on your sandblasting application.
- Free-standing enclosures with floor plates
- Four-sided enclosures supported from above
- Any size of sandblasting curtain height and length
- Magnet split entrances
- Easy to replace curtain panels if and when damaged
Whether you require a portable booth for occasional blasting work or a permanent installation for continuous production, we design each enclosure to suit your operational requirements and available floor space.
Contain Sandblasting Dust
Material Benefits
The material used in sandblasting curtains operates in an extremely demanding environment. Sandblasting enclosures from AKON use materials that have the following qualities:
- Material must last a long time under abrasive conditions
- Material must be easy to replace when worn
- Material must be lightweight and easy to move
Our vinyl-coated polyester is specifically selected for blast containment applications. The heavy-gauge material resists punctures from ricochet media whilst remaining flexible enough to hang properly and retract when not in use.
High Grade Curtain Materials
Material Features
- Puncture Resistant
- Very Flexible & Lightweight
- UV Resistant
- Flame & Non-Flame Retardant
Akon utilises a shot blast curtain which is identical to haulage tarps that are made for the harshest conditions. This material has proven to be extremely reliable for containment of shot blast media and sandblasting dust. Sandblasting curtain enclosures made from this 18oz and 22oz vinyl are a fraction of the cost of rigid wall systems.
The material is supplied in a range of colours and weights to suit your specific application, from light dust containment through to heavy abrasive media deflection.
