Improve Animal Welfare and Climate Control with Livestock Strip Curtains

The Challenge of Agricultural Environmental Management

In agricultural buildings such as barns, stables, and milking parlours, maintaining a stable internal environment is critical for animal health and productivity. Open doorways are necessary for livestock movement, yet they act as a direct conduit for biting winds, driving rain, and extreme temperature fluctuations. During winter, the loss of ambient heat can increase feed requirements and stress vulnerable livestock, while in summer, open doors allow flying insects and pests to infiltrate the facility. Without a flexible barrier, farmers are forced to choose between essential ventilation and the protection of their animals from harsh external conditions.

Durable, Hands-Free Protection for Farm Environments

Our livestock strip curtains provide a rugged, professional-grade solution designed to seal openings while allowing animals to move freely and safely. Manufactured from specialized, high-grade PVC, these strips are engineered to be softer and more flexible than standard industrial curtains to ensure they do not cause distress or injury to livestock during passage. Each system is precision-tailored to the dimensions of your doorway or bay, utilizing overlapping strips that instantly reform a tight seal after an animal passes through. This creates a reliable thermal and weather barrier that remains effective even in high-traffic agricultural settings.

Strategic Benefits of Tailored Livestock Barriers

  • Enhanced Thermal Comfort and Health: Significantly reducing cold drafts and wind-chill within the building, helping to maintain a consistent temperature that supports animal growth and well-being.
  • Effective Pest and Fly Control: Providing a 24/7 physical deterrent that blocks flying insects and birds, reducing the spread of disease and keeping livestock calmer during milking or resting.
  • Advanced Weatherproofing: Acting as a robust shield against driving rain and snow, ensuring that bedding remains dry and reducing the risk of respiratory issues caused by damp environments.
  • Safe and Intuitive Design: Utilizing high-clarity, UV-stabilized materials with rounded edges that provide excellent light transmission and safe passage for animals of all sizes.
Measuring

Step 1 – Width x Height

  • Measure the width and the height of the door
opening or area where you want to install the
    strips.
  • Add 152 mm more in total height and add 152mm total in width
    if you want wall
    mount hardware

Step 2 – Choose Your Hardware

  • Decide on the type of mounting that best fits
    your application

    • Wall mount is preferred on doorways. This gets
the hardware out of the doorway and allows the
strips to overlap the door jambs for maximum
      seal and air lock.
    • For in-jamb use header mount, simply order the
exact size you need to span the opening.
    • Universal mount can also be used when you are
      not sure.
