OVERVIEW
Industrial free-standing curtains are supported from the floor upward with heavy-duty base plates, making them the ideal choice when overhead ceiling mounting is impractical or unavailable. The framework is constructed from 16-gauge galvanised steel and is designed for rapid deployment and straightforward removal. Whether you need a temporary welding screen, a permanent dust enclosure, or a flexible production cell, AKON supplies a modular system that can be configured to virtually any layout across the UK and Ireland.
Simple Installation
No specialist tools are required. The bolt-together framework assembles quickly, and curtains hang on roller hooks or secure with cable ties in minutes.
Cost-Effective
Free-standing industrial curtains cost roughly a third of the price of rigid wall systems or permanent partitions, and the modular framework can be dismantled and stored when not in use.
Separate Operatives
Industrial curtain walls are ideal for keeping operatives apart during welding, washing, packaging, and numerous other processes.
Control Noise
The dense PVC panels used in our industrial curtains help attenuate noise levels, resulting in a quieter and more productive working environment for neighbouring areas.

Custom Made Per Application
Every free-standing curtain system is custom made to suit your specific requirements. Widths are unlimited, and heights can reach up to 4.57 m. The setup consists of two components: the industrial curtains and the supporting hardware. Curtains are available in a wide range of colours and styles, including clear PVC, tinted vinyl, opaque 18 oz reinforced vinyl, and welding-grade materials. Simply provide your dimensions and preferred material, and AKON will design the system to fit.
Choose Strip or Solid Panels
Strip Curtains
Strip Curtain Hardware
In this setup solid PVC strip curtains are bolted to the frame. The strips allow people and product to move into and out of the enclosure quickly at almost any location. With this set up, there is no need to pull a curtain back to allow access which will in turn increase efficiency for high traffic applications. The strips are clear for a line of sight and can easily be changed out if they get damaged or worn out.
Solid Curtains
Solid Curtain Hardware
Utilizing most of the same hardware as static hardware, the rolling curtain hardware allows for side-to-side movement of the curtain walls. These Industrial Free Standing Curtains roll on curtain hooks and can have hard corners, radius corners, or no corners in case of a single sided setup. The rolling curtain track is slightly offset of the vertical uprights so that the curtain can move freely around the enclosures with no limitations.
Optional Ceilings
Ceiling Curtains
When your enclosure needs a roof, AKON can provide ceiling panels as well. These are a 14-mil clear vinyl that drapes over the top of the framework. The transparent material allows ambient light into the enclosure while containing dust and debris. The ceiling panels are custom cut to match the footprint of your free-standing system.
Free-Standing Dust Enclosures with Ceilings
One of the most frequently requested features for a free-standing enclosure is a ceiling or roof panel. When it is not possible to run the curtain all the way up to the roof deck, or when services run above the enclosure, a ceiling panel provides a complete seal. This configuration is commonly used by CNC operators, pharmaceutical packagers, and any process that demands a fully enclosed, dust-free workspace.
