OVERVIEW
AKON supplies industrial welding curtain rolls for facilities that need to cut PVC strips to their own specifications on site. Each bulk roll provides between 45 m and 90 m of tinted, flame-resistant PVC material. Simply unroll the length you require and trim to size with a sharp blade. Alternatively, we can ship rolls with pre-scored perforations at your chosen intervals so strips can be separated by hand without any tools. Complete strip door kits and hook-on-rail mounting hardware are also available.
The Best Welding Bulk Rolls
Easy Install
Replacement welding strip rolls are available with pre-punched mounting holes, allowing maintenance teams to fit new strips quickly with no specialist tooling required.
Welding Certified
AKON welding bulk PVC rolls are rated for use in welding environments, featuring flame-resistant additives and UV-filtering properties suitable for industrial applications.
Protects Welders
Tinted PVC welding strips shield personnel from dangerous arc flash and airborne sparks, forming a reliable first line of defence around each welding station.
Control Noise
The dense PVC construction of these welding strips provides a noticeable reduction in workshop noise, helping to create a more comfortable working environment for neighbouring operatives.
Welding Protection
Designed for Protection
Every welding curtain roll is formulated with specialist additives that tint the PVC and boost its flame resistance. The material filters hazardous UV radiation generated during arc welding, safeguarding bystanders from flash burn. Rated for operating temperatures between -18 degrees C and 65 degrees C, these rolls are extruded from high-grade PVC compound and wound ready for immediate deployment in any UK workshop or fabrication hall.
Welding Curtain Roll â Protection Chart
The chart above compares UV attenuation values for the most popular tinted red and tinted bronze welding strips. Although performance varies slightly between colourways, every roll in the AKON range meaningfully reduces harmful ultraviolet exposure. Bear in mind that welding strip curtains are intended for incidental bystander protection only and must never be treated as a replacement for a proper welding helmet.
Dimensions
Hole Spacing
When ordered with pre-punched holes, the welding strip rolls arrive with holes spaced every 50.8 mm (as illustrated on the 200 mm strip above). This pitch is compatible with the vast majority of strip curtain mounting hardware available in the UK market. Rolls can also be supplied without holes for customers who prefer to punch their own on site. A loop-style option is available too, ideal for threading strips onto bars or tubular rails.
Strip Widths
Welding PVC rolls are stocked in 200 mm and 300 mm widths. The 200 mm option is the most widely used across UK facilities. The wider 300 mm strip is recommended for openings that experience heavy motorised traffic or where the curtain drop exceeds 3 m in height, as the broader overlap improves containment and durability.

Description
Welding Safe Strip Curtains
Presenting our welding rated PVC rolls. These rolls, which are made of PVC, act as a barrier to protect welders and onlookers from the dangers of strong welding light and damaging UV rays. By reducing the possibility of exposure to welding spatter and intense light, this cutting-edge screen guarantees that welders can do their jobs safely and protects the health of spectators and bystanders. Our welding rated strip curtain rolls adhere to strict safety rules and are in compliance with international standards like "Health and Safety in Welding" (ISO 25980, EN 1598 in Europe).
