Overview

The CS-500 Sliding Safety Curtains are great options for manufacturing work cells where there cannot be any interference on the floor or overhead. The sliding curtain is supported by a steel cable which is connected from one of the work cell to the other side. The operator simply walks the cable/curtain to the mounting fixture which is located up to 26' away. The side to side safety curtain then protects the operator and nearby bystanders from welding sparks, welding rays, and other harmful flying debris.

Industrial Sliding Safety Curtains

The industrial sliding safety curtain is ideal for manufacturing work cells where overhead suspension systems can interfere with material handling. The CS500 allows the cable and the curtain to be removed easily, enabling passage of overhead cranes and material handling equipment. The CS500 can then be re-extended for safe area protection. Tension Cable Mounting

The CS500 sliding safety curtain stores on the cable guide, and the entire assembly can be rotated 180° for safe storage. Combining a safety curtain and a suspension device, the CS500 is a versatile area protection system. By conveniently extending and retracting, the industrial sliding safety curtain can span distances up to 26 feet, thus providing an effective method of area protection

Curtain Easily Slides

Once extended, you can also move the curtain on the cable like a shower curtain rolls side-to-side on a rail. The curtain features connectors which easily slide on the cable track. This gives the safety curtain the ability to open and close when complete access is not needed for cranes or forklifts.

FAQ

How does the shade work?
The CS-500 is a retractable shade. You simply pull the shade out in the cable at the same time, you then attach the cable to any vertical surface. You then have the ability to open and close the curtain while leaving the cable in place. If you need complete access you retract the cable and it rolls back up into the spool.

Does the guard come with the mounting post?
The mounting post is optional. If you wanted the shade to be completely freestanding in the middle of the floor you would purchase two mounting posts. Please keep in mind the mounting post should be anchored to the floor.

What does the shade connect to?
The shade comes with a mounting bracket that you can attach to our optional freestanding post or any vertical surface.

Does the shade assembly swivel left and right?
Yes it does swivel left and right giving you complete access.

Do you supply custom sizes?
We can provide smaller shades than those listed on the website however we cannot provide larger ones as the cable would sag due to the weight of the shade.

Can these be electrically interlocked so the machine they are guarding does not start until the shade is pulled shut?
As far as using safety interlocks and proximity switches that is something that you can do on site if you have a controls company or if you have a capable maintenance person working at your facility. We don't provide any of the electronic devices required to make that set up but it actually is fairly common with customers as a retrofit that they install. Customers typically do this so that they can make sure the curtain is pulled shut before the equipment starts working.
