OVERVIEW
Welding curtain track with roller hooks enables smooth side-to-side movement, giving full access to both sides of the welding bay. The heavy-duty track is modular, supplied in 1.8 m, 2.4 m, and 3 m lengths that bolt together to span any required distance.
Flexibility in Design
Welding Curtain Track
AKON supplies a range of welding curtain track mounting options to suit every workshop layout (see below). Tracks are pressed from robust 16-gauge galvanised steel and carry a lifetime warranty. Lengths of 1.8 m, 2.4 m, and 3 m splice together to form any run, while 90-degree radius corners allow you to create full enclosures or L-shaped bays.
Industrial Curtain Hooks
Roller hooks allow the welding curtain to glide from side to side with minimal friction. Two styles are available: nylon-wheeled hooks rated at 18 kg each, and steel ball-bearing hooks rated at 34 kg for heavier curtain panels. Hooks are spaced every 30 cm along the track.
Curtain Track Supports
A variety of track support brackets hold the track in position overhead. Supports clamp or bolt onto the straight track sections and are typically spaced every 1.5 m to 2.4 m, depending on curtain weight. See the different mounting styles below.
Curtain Track Corners
Virtually any layout is achievable with the 90-degree radius corners. These 60 cm radius bends let curtains roll smoothly around corners, making it easy to form enclosed welding cells. Hard 90-degree corners are also available where space is limited.
Track Support Options
Ceiling Mount
Best suited for fixing the welding curtain track directly to a solid ceiling or structural soffit. Ideal where the overhead structure is level and accessible.
Wall Mount
Ideal when the curtain track will be fixed to a vertical surface such as a masonry wall, steel column, or timber frame.
Chain or Cable Mount
Best for tall ceilings or where the track needs to hang below ductwork, pipework, or other overhead services.
Threaded Rod Mount
Like chain or cable mounts, threaded rod lets you drop the track below obstructions or lower it from high ceilings to the required working height.
I-Beam Mount
Designed for clamping directly onto I-beams or roof trusses. Set screws grip the flange securely without the need for drilling.

What is the curtain track constructed from?
The curtain tracks are constructed from either galvanised steel or stainless steel. Both options resist corrosion; however, stainless steel is better suited to coastal environments, chemical wash-down areas, and certain food-grade applications. Stainless steel hardware costs roughly three to four times more than galvanised and looks almost identical.
How thick is the curtain track?
The standard curtain track is 16-gauge (1.61 mm wall thickness), as shown in the image above. A heavier 12-gauge option (2.75 mm) is also available for situations demanding extra load capacity, such as hanging tools, plates, or heavy equipment. If you would like a quotation for the 12-gauge track, simply ask your salesperson to update the quote.
