Warehouse Demising Wall

Demising-Walls-Seperation (3)

OVERVIEW

Warehouse demising walls are unique and ideal for establishing warehouse separation walls in minimal time. They are a cost-effective alternative to fixed construction walls and require a shorter time period for installation than traditional framing walls. Its effectiveness is realized when used as soft walls to accommodate more production lines in your factory or to separate tenants in your warehouse. This demising wall system resolves the issue of breaking down and rebuilding walls in the warehouse due to ever changing needs in your business.

Demising Wall Uses

Temperature Zoning

Create temperature zones for storing products at different temperatures or to create a more comfortable work environment.

Dust Control

Effectively control dust levels within your facility during construction projects and during renovations.

Separate Tenants

Zone or lease out your warehouse to tenants who need to be kept separated due to their different operations.

Control Noise

Insulated curtains are also dual purpose noise control curtains due to the thick batting they are made from.

What Is a Demising Wall?

What is a Demising Wall?

A demising wall is a large wall used for dividing space within a warehouse in an industrial setting in order to separate processes or to isolate a particular production operation. Demising walls vary depending on their mode of application and your goals. A demising wall can;

  • Reach a height of 50 feet from the floor to ceiling totally covering an area to establish temperature and humidity controlled partitions.
  • Reach lengths of over 500 feet to fully divide a manufacturing plant into separate areas.

However you need your facility to be separated, we provide extremely tall wall systems that are just right for providing a temporal or permanent soft wall for the enhancement of environmental control, work efficiency, stable temperature maintenance, or to increase quality control. The modular demising wall system adapts easily to existing roof structures like beams and joists for a complete seal.

Entry Options

If you are using larger static position curtain walls that will not roll side to side then using entry points is ideal. These openings allow people and product into the curtained area quickly and with little effort. The most common entry and exits are strip curtains, swinging doors or powered roll up doors. Strip doors being the most common and economical. Each version features a freestanding frame that anchors into the floor and seals to the curtain wall.

Curtain Features

Clear Vision Panels

Vision panels can be added to allow for a clear line
of sight through the curtain. Standard vision panels
are 54" in height but can be made to any size.

Curtain Valances

A valance is made from the same material as the
lower curtain. They are used to seal the opening
above the curtain. This is generally the space from
the roof deck to the bottom of the joist or purlin.
They can be rectangular or follow the roof's slope.

Floor Sweeps

A floor sweep seals the open area between the
curtain and the floor. It attaches to the main
curtain by Velcro. They are 6″ tall and as wide
as the entire length of the curtain. These are
ideal for controlling dust, fumes, odors, and
other undesirable elements. They can also be
replaced in the future should the friction from
the floor wear them out.

bottom curtain anchor

Anchor Straps

Velcro straps hold your curtain in place for
a light breeze or power washing. These
anchors feature Velcro straps that loop
through a D-ring, which is anchored into the
cement floor. Typically spaced every 4'.

Seal Velcro

Seal Velcro, also known as adhesive Velcro, sticks
onto your curtain and can be installed in the field.
Please note that this is not ideal for cold
temperature applications or high-frequency use.

Chain Weights

If you have a slight breeze or are power washing
near the curtain, then we can add a galvanized
3/16" chain weight to the bottom of the curtain.

Connecting Curtains

Velcro

Velcro is used to connect curtain sections
together to form larger curtain walls. The
Velcro also serves as an access points for
larger curtains and makes them easier to
install.

Magnets

Seal magnets are an ideal way to attach curtains
to each other or adjacent steel walls and beams.
Best utilized in dusty areas that would clog up
Velcro.

Entry Options

Sewn-In Strip Doors

Strip doors that are sewn into the curtain are
Ideal for light foot traffic. This allows for quick
movement of people into and out of the
industrial curtains.

Free-Standing Strip Doors

For motorized traffic, a free-standing steel frame
strip door is ideal. The steel frame takes the
stress off of the curtain wall, ensuring longevity
and performance for motor traffic and high use.

Swinging Impact Doors

A free-standing industrial swinging door can
also be provided for access. Also known as
impact doors, these heavy-duty doors can
take a lot of abuse from carts, forklifts, or
heavy foot traffic. View Styles

Roll-Up Doors

Supported with a free-standing steel frame,
the power roll-up doors can be opened and
closed via remote from a forklift. Door
styles and prices vary based on the frequency
of opening and closing, speed requirements
and size. View Styles

How to Measure

Width

  • Measure the distance that you are trying to cover
    • We will generally add 5% to this dimension to give your curtain proper drape.
    • When you receive your quote, the hardware width will be the actual width.

Height

  • Measure the distance from the floor to the mounting point
    • We will subtract 3" to account for the hardware to keep your curtain just off of the ground.
      • If you want the floor sweep option, we also subtract the 3". This will allow the floor sweep to lay slightly on the floor while the main curtain is just off of the floor.
      • If you have a sloped ceiling please provide us with the high point height and the low point height. We will assume it is a linear straight slope. More Info On Here On Slope Ceilings

Common Questions

What is the spacing from the bottom of the track to the top of the curtain?
Standard curtains have approximately 3.75 to 1″ of a gap from the bottom of the track to the top of the curtain.

Spacing from Track

What are the dimensions of the track?

Can the track be cut to size on site?
Yes, the track is made to be field cut on site using a hack saw or Sawzall.

How much width does the radius corner add to the length?
The radius corner is 24” diameter. The radius corner will add 2 feet to each dimension.
For example, if you have 120” of curtain track then a radius corner will be make the overall length of side “A” 120”+24”=144”

How does the track go together?
The track is modular in design and will arrive in pieces that have a simple bolt together design.

How close together do I need the track supports?
The track should be supported approximately every 5' with a track support. The farther apart the track supports, the greater the deflection. If you have a relatively short in height curtain then you could space the supports out a little farther. You will receive enough track supports with your order to achieve this 5' spacing.

Can I simply drill straight through the track and into the ceiling / structure?
Yes. This is called a flush mount install and is very common. Simply drill through the middle of the track and use a small wood screw, bolt, Tek screw...ect into your structure. Space the holes about every 3-5'.

How hard is it to install the industrial curtain track?
It is very easy. All of the components simply fit into each other and connect with set screws. The installation is very intuitive. If you have any difficulty simply call or email us and we will walk you through the process.

Will the track rust? Can it be used in wet environments?
The track is Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) which is often used to protect steel from corrosion in some of the harshest environments imaginable, yet it provides maintenance-free longevity for decades. The corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanizing varies according to its surroundings but generally corrodes at a rate of 1/30 of bare steel in the same environment.
