When a roller shutter drum blocks a standard strip mount, the stand-off strip curtain creates a three-sided enclosure that sits forward of the drum to seal the opening — no major structural work required. Side uprights are field-adjustable in and out for a precise fit, and a cross-member spans the full width of the opening. Add an optional 0.5 mm top curtain to form a complete enclosure.
- Mounts in front of roller shutter drums to seal dock or workshop openings.
- Adjustable stand-off brackets for an exact fit; cross-member completes the frame.
- Optional top curtain (0.5 mm) closes the header gap for full containment.
- Available in standard clear, low-temperature / food-safe, welding-grade, opaque, or ESD strip materials.
Strips Available in Several Material Options
Outward Projection Hardware
The heavy-duty brackets project outward from the wall to clear roller shutter drums and other door hardware. Each bracket extends up to 600 mm from the wall face, accommodating virtually any industrial application.
All fixings are supplied in galvanised steel for long-lasting corrosion resistance in demanding UK warehouse and cold-store environments.
PVC Strip Widths
Strips are available in several widths and thicknesses, selected according to the height of your opening and the type of traffic passing through. Choosing the correct strip thickness is essential so that pedestrians, pallet trucks, and forklift traffic can enter and exit quickly and safely.
For openings up to around 3 m high, standard 200 mm or 300 mm wide strips are typically recommended. Wider 400 mm strips suit taller openings where additional rigidity is needed.
Concertina Fold-Up Strip Curtains
Strips That Fold Up
Accordion Strip Doors are clear, transparent PVC strips widely used at loading dock doors and other openings to reduce heat loss, conserve cooled air, safeguard personnel, and limit noise. They are the ideal solution for doorways where the curtain needs to be periodically moved completely out of the way.
During the coldest winter months or the height of summer, simply close the concertina strip doors to conserve energy and maintain a comfortable working environment inside your premises.
What is a stand-off strip curtain?
A PVC strip curtain mounted on a forward-projecting frame that clears the roller shutter drum. Two galvanised side uprights and a cross-member form a three-sided structure so the strips can seal the opening without interfering with door operation.
When should I choose stand-off hardware instead of a standard header mount?
Use stand-off brackets whenever a roller shutter drum, lintel obstruction, or overhead door track prevents a flush header mount. The frame positions the strip curtain in front of the obstacle to reduce draughts while keeping the primary door fully operational.
Can I close the gap above the roller shutter drum?
Yes. Add an optional 0.5 mm clear top curtain to close the header space and create a more complete thermal and dust enclosure.
Is the stand-off frame adjustable?
Yes. The side uprights are field-adjustable in and out, allowing you to set the precise stand-off depth required for your specific door assembly.
Which strip materials can I use?
Standard clear, ribbed clear, low-temperature / food-safe for cold stores, welding-grade tints for hot-work areas, opaque for privacy, and ESD for static-sensitive environments.
Can the entire strip wall slide open?
Yes. Pair the stand-off frame with sliding strip hardware (track and rollers) to move the full strip wall aside for complete, unobstructed access.
How do I measure for a quotation?
Provide the opening width and height, drum size and location, and the required stand-off depth. Photographs or a quick sketch help us ensure an accurate fit first time.
Do you supply fitting instructions?
Yes. Step-by-step fitting guides are included for mounting the uprights, cross-member, and hanging the strips and top curtain.
