OVERVIEW
When an opening or wall of strip curtains needs to slide completely out of the way, sliding strip curtains are the ideal solution. This gives full clearance for people and equipment — such as forklifts, pallet trucks, and overhead cranes — to pass through without restriction. Once the load has cleared, the strip curtain slides back to seal the opening and restore temperature or dust control. These systems are widely used in UK distribution centres and cold-store operations where frequent, wide-load access is essential.

5 Mounting Styles
Mounting Options
The strip doors can slide open and close using one of five mounting configurations. Simply choose the version that best suits your application.
- Top mount: Track fixed directly to the lintel or header beam — the most common arrangement in UK warehouses.
- Face mount: Track bolted to the wall face above the opening, ideal where lintel depth is limited.
- Ceiling mount: Track suspended from the ceiling, useful when the opening has no solid lintel.
- Under mount: Track fitted to the underside of a structural beam or mezzanine floor.
- Hanging mount: Track hung from threaded rod for height-adjustable installations.
3 Storage Styles
Storage Options
The strip curtains can slide to the side of the opening in several ways. Bear in mind that storage space is roughly 1:1 — for example, a 3 m wide opening requires approximately 3 m of clear wall space to one side. If space is tight, a bi-parting arrangement splits the curtain so each half stores on opposite sides, halving the required clearance. This is particularly useful in narrow service corridors and tight loading bays common in older UK industrial units.
