Better Than Thin Film

You can find clear film online for around €40, but it typically lasts only minutes in harsh weather. AKON does not supply film material, as we focus on industrial and commercial-grade solutions. We use thick 20 mil and 30 mil clear PVC designed to withstand winter conditions, strong winds, and UV exposure. Our material is also custom-sized, so you don’t have excess plastic flapping in the wind, which not only looks untidy but also performs poorly at keeping out the weather.

• ZIPPER or MAGNETIC ENTRANCES: Unhooking a tarp to enter can be inconvenient, so we offer clear tarps with zipper or magnetic openings for quick access. Walk in easily, then seal it behind you.
• REINFORCED EDGES: The clear PVC material includes reinforced webbing around the edges for extra strength. This prevents fasteners from tearing out during windy conditions. Note: only clear tarps require webbing, as opaque vinyl is already internally reinforced.
• SHIPS IN 7–10 WORKING DAYS: Quality fabrication takes a little longer, but the result is a perfect fit. Custom-sized tarps install cleanly and avoid the loose, messy look of generic covers. These tarps are made specifically for you and come with a 1-year defect warranty. Please note: custom tarps are non-refundable unless defective.

Mounting Options

Grommets: Rust-resistant, located on corners and every 46 cm.

This is the most common and versatile mounting method.

Snaps | Screw On: Rust-resistant, placed on corners and every 46 cm.
Snaps include a screw that mounts to your structure.
Not recommended for high-wind areas or tarps over 3 m due to weight.

Snaps | Stick On: Adhesive snaps attach to your structure without drilling.
Ideal for aluminum screen enclosures or vinyl siding.
Use with 4 cm-wide adhesive bases.

Twist Locks: Rust-resistant, placed on corners and every 46 cm.
Twist locks (also called turn buttons) allow fast removal and reinstallation.
All twist-lock hardware is included.

Pockets: 7.6 cm-tall pockets ideal for the bottom of tarps.
They can also be used for hanging tarps when no mid-point structure is available.
Pockets do not change the overall dimensions ordered. Pipe not included.

Shapes: Triangular and sloped vinyl tarp walls can be made to enclose uneven spaces.

Considerations

USES

SHRINKAGE
PVC expands and contracts slightly with temperature changes and folding. Tarps are made to your exact size, but may vary by up to 2.5 cm after shipping and weather exposure. Allow a little tolerance when measuring.

HEAT SEALING
Heat seals are placed either vertically or horizontally at AKON’s discretion for tarps wider than 137 cm.
If you prefer to specify heat-seal placement, just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
