OVERVIEW
Welding cubicles provide a practical, cost-effective way to create dedicated welding bays within busy fabrication shops, training centres, and industrial workshops. They are widely specified across the UK in further-education colleges, MOD facilities, and manufacturing plants where multiple welders operate in close quarters.
By dividing an open floor into individual cubicles, you reduce cross-exposure to UV arc flash, contain sparks and grinding debris, and give each welder a safer, more organised workspace. Our cubicle curtains are supplied on heavy-duty track systems that bolt to walls, ceilings, or freestanding support posts — no permanent building work required.
Welding Cubicle Benefits
- Create a safer working environment that meets HSE workplace segregation guidance
- Shield personnel from harmful UV arc flash and airborne sparks
- Reduce ambient noise levels between adjacent welding stations
- Easy to wipe down and keep clean
- Far less expensive than rigid partitions or permanent block walls
- Improve productivity by assigning specific tasks to clearly defined bays
- Quick to dismantle and redeploy when your workshop layout changes
UK Compliance and Site Considerations
All our welding curtain materials comply with EN 1598 (assessment of welding curtains and strips) and carry the appropriate fire-retardancy ratings for use in UK workshops. We supply curtains in a range of colours — amber for general MIG/MAG work, dark green for TIG and plasma, and red for applications requiring maximum UV absorption.
When planning cubicle layouts for UK sites, our team accounts for local extraction requirements, overhead crane clearances, and the width of forklift or pallet-truck aisles. We can work from your floor plan or arrange a site survey to confirm dimensions and fixing points.
Choosing the Right Curtain Material
For standard MIG and MAG welding, our PVC vinyl curtains offer excellent visibility and UV protection at an economical price point. Where heavier slag or close-proximity TIG work is involved, we recommend our heavy-duty canvas curtains, which withstand direct contact with hot spatter.
Strip curtains are the preferred choice for robotic welding cells and high-traffic openings because they allow parts and personnel to pass through without manual handling. Every material we supply is available in bespoke widths and drops to suit your specific bay dimensions.
Create Welding Zones
You Sketch It, We Supply It
If you already have a welding cubicle design, simply send us your layout drawing and we will provide a detailed quotation for you to review. Our technical team will specify the correct track, support hardware, and curtain material for your application so that every welding bay is arranged for safe, efficient operation.
We take into account the type of traffic — pedestrian, forklift, or overhead crane — and the frequency of entry and exit at each cell, then recommend the most suitable curtain arrangement. We also supply fully retractable cubicle curtains that roll away when not in use, freeing up valuable floor space for other tasks.
Installation and Ongoing Support
Every welding cubicle kit we supply arrives with clear fitting instructions, pre-drilled brackets, and all necessary fixings. Most installations are completed by on-site maintenance teams using standard hand tools — no specialist contractors required.
If your requirements change, additional track sections and curtain panels can be ordered individually so you can extend or reconfigure your cubicles without replacing the entire system. Our team is available by phone or email to assist with layout queries at any stage of your project.
Solid - Welding Cubicle Curtains
Welding curtains that form a solid wall or a complete four-sided welding booth. Ideal for segregating individual welding bays in busy workshops.
Designed for high-heat and close-proximity welding where hot weld slag and sparks are present. Heavy-duty canvas provides superior durability.
Side-to-side vinyl curtains fitted to welding booths. Widely used in colleges, training centres, and apprenticeship workshops across the UK.
Tinted and opaque welding rolls that zip-tie to welding cell fencing or hang as static screens. Supplied in standard or bespoke lengths.
Portable - Welding Cubicle Screens
The most popular welding shield. Portable welding screens fold flat and can be repositioned anywhere on the shop floor.
Same concept as the vinyl but in heavy canvas. Designed for close-proximity welding where hot slag and sparks are a concern.
Retractable welding curtain screens that pull up by hand and are fully portable. They store in very tight spaces when not in use.
Retractable welding curtain screens that pull by hand and are portable. Available up to 7.5 m in length and completely freestanding.
Strip - Welding Cubicle Curtains
Includes PVC strips and hardware for a complete welding strip system. Available in all configurations to suit your layout.
Most commonly hung on rods that drop down from the ceiling. The strip wall permits full access whilst containing UV flash.
Provides complete overhead access for cranes and hoists. Forms multiple work cells or single-sided dividing walls.
For welding booths that require entry and exit without needing to push the curtain aside. Walk-through strip design.
Robotic welding strip curtains allow materials to pass through whilst protecting operators from arc flash and debris.
Strips fitted around the perimeter of exhaust hoods to contain welding fumes and improve extraction efficiency.
For replacing worn-out weld strips or where hardware is not required. Supplied in rolls up to 90 m in length.
Strips engineered for very high temperatures near blast ovens and furnaces. Rated for temperatures up to 1,650 °C.
Retractable - Welding Cubicle Curtains
Retractable welding curtain screens that pull across the weld cell by hand. Up to 7.5 m in length and freestanding.
Retractable welding curtain screens that pull across the weld cell by hand. Available up to 8 m in length and fully freestanding.
Retractable welding curtain screens that pull by hand and are portable. Up to 7.5 m in length and freestanding.
The drop-down roller guard provides eye protection from grinding, welding, and sanding operations. Mounts directly to workstations.
Bulk Rolls & Blankets
Rolls of vinyl welding curtains that can be supplied with grommets along the edges for straightforward hanging.
Designed for heavy close-proximity welding with hot weld slag and sparks. Canvas material is rated up to 1,650 °C.
For replacing worn-out weld strips or where hardware is not needed. Supplied in rolls up to 90 m in length.
