OVERVIEW
Vinyl welding booth curtains are opaque solid curtains or strip curtains designed to shield surrounding workers from arc flash, UV radiation, and weld spatter. These welding booth curtains can be rolled sideways for solid-style panels or walked through for strip-style entry into the welding bay.
They are cost-effective, quick to fit, and straightforward to reposition as your workshop layout changes. Our curtains are widely used across the UK and Ireland in fabrication shops, training centres, and manufacturing facilities.
The Industry Standard
3 Styles To Choose From
Welding Booth Strips
Welding booth strip curtains are one of the most popular styles of weld cell screening in the UK. They are static mounts, so there is no need to roll them back into place once the welder steps through into the booth.
Welding Booth Curtains
Use a steel tube, wire rope, or our curtain track to mount these side-to-side curtains. Welding booth curtains are the most economical of all welding divider options, thanks to their simple design and rapid installation.
Welding Booth Roll Up
A practical design for busy fabrication shops, the roll-up welding booth curtain lowers with a simple pull of the strap, and a ratchet holds the safety welding shade firmly in position. Pull the strap again and it retracts upward — ideal for bays that need frequent, unobstructed access for material flow.
Industrial and Educational Uses
Industrial and Manufacturing
Welding is a core trade across UK manufacturing, and AKON is a leading supplier of safety weld curtains to major fabrication and production facilities. Unlike college training bays, industrial sites demand curtains in a wide range of sizes and configurations to suit complex production workflows.
We supply bespoke curtains tailored to your exact requirements, whether you need a single two-sided booth or a complete multi-bay enclosure spanning an entire workshop floor.
Colleges and Training Centres
Welding booths are essential in further education colleges, universities, and trade training centres across the UK. By fitting AKON welding vinyl curtains, these facilities provide a safe learning and working environment that meets HSE guidelines for UV exposure and weld fume containment.
Regardless of your layout, we supply the correct vinyl weld curtains to keep your students and staff protected.
Home Workshop
For home workshops and garage setups, welding curtains are essential to provide a safe, well-contained space for your welding work. AKON welding vinyl curtains shield your workspace from damaging UV rays, spatter, and sparks, creating a safer environment whether you are a hobbyist or a self-employed fabricator working from home.

Mounting Options
Free-standing
If you have no overhead structure to attach to, our upright floor columns provide a sturdy free-standing solution for heights up to 4.5 m. This is ideal when ceiling-mounted hardware is not practical or when your welding bays need to be repositioned regularly.
The 16-gauge galvanised steel hardware is engineered for rugged industrial use and can be deployed or dismantled quickly. Depending on the height required, 50 mm or 75 mm OD tubular steel is used. The bolt-together design allows for future modifications should your welding cell layout change.
Curtains can be static (zip-tied to the frame) or fitted on a rolling track for easy access.
Curtain Track
The curtain can be hung using steel tracks with roller hooks, allowing it to be rolled aside when not in use. This makes material handling and pedestrian flow around the welding bay straightforward.
Even where the curtains do not need to slide, track mounting gives a clean, professional finish. Choose from five different mounting styles to suit the steelwork or structure you are fixing to.
S-Hooks
If you already have a metal bar, tube, or steel wire in place, simple S-hooks are a quick and reliable method for hanging a retractable welding curtain shade. They are available in 25 mm and 50 mm sizes and suit most standard steelwork found in UK workshops.
Wall Mount End Stops
This style uses the same rolling track shown above but is supported solely from the left and right sides. The end stops anchor to a vertical surface and eliminate the need for overhead or underside support brackets.
This design allows curtains to span up to 2.4 m and is well suited to workshops where overhead fixings are impractical.
