OVERVIEW
AKON offers several industrial welding curtain rolls used to protect welders and bystanders from the dangers of arc welding. The welding bulk rolls are available in lengths from approximately 45 m to 90 m. Simply unroll the PVC and cut it to your desired length. If that is not ideal, we can ship them with holes already punched and perforated to the lengths you want, so you can then rip them apart by hand. You can also order complete welding strip door kits. Also available is hook on rails hardware for plate attachments.
The Best Welding Bulk Rolls
Easy Install
Replacement welding strip bulk rolls are available with pre-punched mounting holes for a quick installation.
Welding Certified
AKON welding bulk PVC rolls are certified for welding operations with fire retardant ratings and some UV blocking properties.
Protects Welders
Welding strip curtains are ideal for protecting welders from arc flash and sparks that present a safety hazard.
Control Noise
The tinted PVC welding strips help protect your eyes from welding UV rays and reduce noise due to the thick PVC they are made from.
Welding Protection
Designed for Protection
The PVC welding curtain rolls are designed to block the hazardous rays produced by welding processes. Each PVC welding curtain roll includes special additives that tint the material and increase its flame resistance. The strips are designed for use in temperatures between -18 °C and 65 °C. They are extruded from a special PVC extruder and rolled up, ready for you to install.
Welding Curtain Roll – Protection Chart
Above you can review the chart which outlines the protection values from the two most common tinted red and tinted bronze welding strips. Be assured that while all of our welding bulk rolls vary slightly in their performance, they all help reduce harmful UV rays. Please be aware that welding curtains do not replace welding helmets. Welding strip curtains are only made for incidental viewing of welding operations.
Dimensions
Hole Spacing
If selected, the welding strip bulk rolls come with holes punched every 50.8 mm (see example of the 200 mm wide strip above). This allows the strips to fit the vast majority of strip curtain hardware on the market. You can also purchase the strips without any mounting holes. Some customers choose to punch their own mounting holes on-site. Loop style is also available for mounting to bars and tubes.
Strip Widths
Welding PVC rolls are available in 200 mm and 300mm widths. The 200 mm wide strips are the most common and widely used. The 300 mm wide strips are ideal for applications with heavy motorised traffic or when the welding strips need to be taller than 3 m in height.
