When designing a new insulated tarp door, we make sure it can reliably block light, reduce noise, and control the indoor temperature. You can easily zone off different areas without the need to purchase standard doors which are expensive and take time to install. Should the need arise, you can always re-position or re-use the curtain doors for other applications.
Premium
Premium Accordion Insulated Door Covers
AKON's premium door covers have a pleasant look with super clean edges. The insulated door cover folds like an accordion. This model has sealed pockets to house the insulating batting, which allows it to fold up in a more controlled manner. The appearance of this insulated door cover is also more aesthetically appealing due to the way that it is produced.
These curtain doors are a great alternative to standard doors as they are quicker to install, move, take down, and re-position. Note: No vision windows can be used with this style of insulated door cover due to the folding method.
Oversize
Large Insulated Door Covers
The large door covers are an effective way of dividing garages, shops, warehouses, and other rooms. They are designed for both outdoor and indoor use. They will completely cover any large opening and prevent temperature loss. With the use of anchor straps which securely connect to the floor, even harsh storms won't be able to budge the curtain door.
Depending on your needs, these Insulated garage door covers can be custom designed to match the exact width and height that you require. They are a great alternative to permanent walls as they are quicker to install, move, and take down.
Folds Up and Stores Nicely

Operation
To help the insulated door tarp fold up neatly, it is guided via the track which comes in a variety of different mounting styles. The industrial insulated door tarps can be mounted to your ceiling, wall face, or can even be suspended from above using threaded rod or chain.
Full height vertical Velcro is also optional for attachment to side walls. Also optional are magnet or Velcro splits for quick access. The curtain doors can roll from side-to-side or remain static.

R-Values To Choose From

Temperature Control R-Values
You can choose from 2 different R-Values for our insulated divider doors. R-Value is the capacity of an insulating material to resist heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. As a general rule the longer you plan to have your thermal curtain installed the higher R-Value you should choose. This will give you the best ROI on your investment. If however your need is short term then it is best to use the less expensive R-Values as long term energy savings will likely not be gained.
- R3 – Standard Separation – Retractable and Stationary
- R6 – High Separation – Retractable and Stationary
Control Air Flow

Floor Engagement
Cold air can get under a normal curtain that rests just above the floor and that will lead to inevitable losses. This reduces the effectiveness of the temperature control doors. Using a floor sweep to engage the floor prevents this issue by controlling the flow of air from one temperature zone to another.
The 8" tall sweep Velcros onto the bottom of the curtain and hangs 6" below it. It can be replaced in the future or replaced with a taller or shorter sweep if you need to use the insulated doors in another location with a different elevation. This is especially true if you need an insulated garage door cover since garages can be negatively affected from the outdoor temperature.
Common Questions about Insulated Door Curtains
Which R-value should I choose—R3 or R6?
R3 works for most standard separations. For colder climates, longer duty cycles, or when maximum insulation is required, R6 is recommended for stronger ROI.
What variants of insulated door covers are available?
There are three main styles: Standard, Premium Accordion (clean folding, no vision windows), and Oversize (engineered for large openings).
Can these covers be custom-sized?
Yes—each curtain is made to your exact door dimensions, from small personnel doors to oversized warehouse or garage openings.
What materials are used?
18 oz reinforced vinyl outer skins with a polyester scrim and a poly-fiber insulation core. The batting is stitched to prevent settling and maintain R-value.
What mounting options are available?
You can select rolling hardware on galvanized track with nylon rollers for easy movement, or a static grommet mount for fixed installations.
How do you seal the bottom?
An 8" floor sweep attaches with Velcro and hangs below the curtain to engage the floor and reduce drafts or air leakage.
Are accessories and access options available?
Yes. Options include valances, anchor straps, magnets, chain weights, sewn-in or free-standing strip doors, swinging impact doors, and powered roll-up doors.
Are these suitable for outdoor use?
Outdoor-ready vinyl skins and hardware configurations are available. Oversize covers can also be equipped with anchor straps for wind resistance.
What warranty is included?
Hardware carries a lifetime warranty and curtains carry a 5-year indoor warranty. Outdoor warranty terms vary—see warranty details for specifics.
