OVERVIEW
Curtains can play a valuable role in how worship spaces are organised and used. In many churches, they help control lighting, separate areas, and create a more flexible environment for different activities. From the first planning stage to the final installation, our team focuses on delivering a curtain system that fits the layout of your church and operates smoothly. If you have a particular design in mind, we can work with you to develop custom sizes, layouts, valances, track systems, and other configurations. Churches can select from materials such as vinyl or velour depending on their needs. Each curtain system is designed with safety and reliability in mind while providing an effective way to divide spaces or reduce unwanted light.
Velour Church Curtains
Practical Uses and Acoustic Benefits of Church Divider Curtains
Many Applications
Use On Walls and Windows. Curtains can be installed along walls or across windows to improve the visual balance of the space while helping regulate incoming daylight. This simple addition can make the worship area feel more comfortable and visually unified.
For the Stage. Stage curtains help create a clean and focused backdrop for services, presentations, and special events. Adding a valance can further enhance the appearance of the stage and give the platform a more refined and welcoming look.
Room Dividers and Partitions. In larger church halls, curtains provide a practical way to separate areas for different activities. They allow the space to be arranged quickly for meetings, classes, or community gatherings while maintaining a neat and elegant appearance.
Reduce Noise
Sound Absorption. Curtains can also help improve the sound environment inside a church. In larger worship spaces, sound from singing, music, meetings, or events can travel easily across the room. Acoustic curtain materials help soften these sounds, creating a calmer and more comfortable setting for services and gatherings.
Thicker Velour. Velour fabric is often chosen when better sound control is needed. Standard 14 oz velour already helps absorb noise, but thicker 21 oz velour provides stronger sound-reducing performance. The added weight allows the fabric to absorb more sound and reduce echo within the space.
Use More Fullness. Curtains designed for sound control are usually installed with extra fullness. A layout with around 50 percent fullness creates soft folds in the fabric. These folds help catch and disperse sound waves more effectively than a flat curtain surface.
Material Options
Vinyl
Vinyl curtains are a reliable choice for areas where durability and easy maintenance are important. The smooth surface makes them simple to wipe clean and helps resist moisture or occasional water spray. Because of its slightly glossy finish, vinyl can also reflect light and give the space a brighter appearance. This material is often selected for environments where the curtain needs to handle frequent use. 100% Visual blackout, 90% Light blackout. €€
Fabric | Poly Stretch
Poly Stretch 6 oz is a lightweight fabric often used for decorative setups and backdrop walls. The two-way stretch helps the material stay smooth with very little wrinkling, while the matte finish creates a clean and professional look. It works well in spaces where a soft visual background is preferred. 75% Visual blackout, 50% Light blackout. €€
Fabric | Premium Velour
Premium Velour 14 oz offers a rich fabric texture that works well for stage areas and presentation settings. The material is inherently flame resistant, washable, and lightweight, making it suitable for commercial environments. It provides an elegant fabric finish while remaining a practical option for long-term use. 100% Visual blackout, 90% Light blackout. €€€
Fullness Options
Fullness
Curtain fullness, sometimes called drape, refers to how much fabric is used compared to the width of the space being covered. Adding fullness creates soft folds that give the curtain a more finished look. To calculate fullness, multiply the width of the opening by the desired fullness level. For example, a 23-metre opening with 50% fullness would require 34.5 metres of curtain material. Our team can handle these calculations to make the process simple.
